The people demand more and more with the widespread of the car, automotive engine hood is a very important panel, it’s lightweight determines the energy saving、 environmental protection. Static and dynamic performance affects the car’s usability and comfort. Insulation performance determines the appearance and lifetime of the car. With collision protection determines the safety of pedestrians. To do this research engine hood’s static and dynamic performance、thermal performance% the head impact protection performance are very important.This paper studies the laminated structure luminum foam of engine hood design and light weight、static and dynamic characteristics,thermal conductivity and pedestrian’s head protection. The main contents are as follows:based on this premise in light weight, based structural requirements of prototype car’s engine hood and the characteristics of aluminum foam to design laminated structure of aluminum foam engine hood.Comparative analysis results show that the laminated structure engine hood of aluminum foam’s feasibility and superiority in the static performance. Analysis two structures engine hood’s dynamic performance (modal, harmonic response), results show that the laminated structure engine hood of aluminum foam in the dynamic performance of the superiority.Based on heat transfer theory, the two structures engine hood theoretical analysis with thermal conductivity, comparative analysis results show the insulation feasibility and superiority that the laminated structure engine hood of aluminum foam.According to NCAP regulations, to do finite element simulation anasys automobile engine hood with foam aluminum laminated structure’s pedestrian crash safety, results show that the laminated structure engine hood of foamed aluminum for pedestrian traffic accident security aspects of the superiority.
