With the improvement of the consumption level, the number of cars within our society has increased tremendously thus to satisfy people's needs. However, the environmental issues caused by the vehicles exhaust also occurs, such as the'greenhouse effect' and 'haze problem', these problems brought out an opportunity for the development of pure electric vehicles. However, due to the limited battery capacity, thus making the electrical vehicle driving distance is not ideal, the research of regenerative braking technology within this paper can be quite way to solve this problem. By storing the energy generated during the automobile braking process, the purpose of prolonging electric vehicle driving distance is achieved.Firstly, the development and research status quo of domestic and abroad regenerative braking technologies are introduced, confirming that the electric vehicle is a nowadays hot research issue, the principles and influential factors of regenerative braking are analyzed in detail, each constitute component of the regenerative braking control system is determined, which includes the composite energy storage device made up by a lithium battery and a super capacitor, a motor driving unit and a load simulation unit. Then, the coordination process of regenerative braking force and mechanical friction braking force is being researched and simulated, and the overall simulation process is being optimized by fuzzy control strategy.After the simulation verification of regenerative braking control system, the system hardware and software designs are carried out. The corresponding hardware circuits and software flow charts are given. Finally, the experiment platform of regenerative braking control system is set up according to the beforehand preparation work. The inertial and non-inertial loads are provided by dynamometer, and to simulate all kinds of working conditions during the vehicle operation, meanwhile, the whole real-time process experimental data are stored.In the end, the experiment research of regenerative braking control system iscarried out and its experimental results are analyzed. The results show that when under the typical working condition and ensure the braking safety. The driving distance of electrical vehicle can be effectively prolonged if regenerative braking technology is being adopted.
