Full automatic ?335 steel pipe end chamfering machine is an important equipment for steel pipe production line. The ?335 automatic conveying mechanism of automatic steel pipe end chamfering machine is fully researched in this paper. Firstly, automatic steel pipe conveying mechanism of optimization is completed by ADAMS. The design power of machine is reduced which is haved on the hydranlic energy of the prime motor. It is not only strength but also reliability of the key parts of the automatic transmission mechanism is satisficed the requirements. The degree of safety and reliability of the key parts is explained by the expects of probability theory and mathematical statistics. Since the reliability of the key parts are too high, the structure optimization design for the key parts in the ANSYS has to be carried out to save material. So the weight of the key parts is reduced and the strength and stiffness are met the requirements. When the target of reducing the energy and the weight is accomplished, the vibration analysis of the mechanism is calculated, which provides the data support for improving the vibration characteristics of the transmission mechanism. Then the PLC control system is designed for the automatic transmission mechanism. In order to improve the production efficiency, kinds of transmission mode are designed one isautomatic and the other one is mannual. The main research contents of this paper are as follows:(1) Driving force optimization of automatic conveying mechanismThe relevant components in the conveying mechanism are parameterized, including the driving force of the hydraulic cylinder in the mechanism for a whole and the local two optimization schemes.The best scheme is selected from the two optimization schemes to achieve the purpose of reducing the energy consumption of the hydraulic cylinder.Optimization results show that the average driving forces of the lifting mechanism and the sliding mechanism are decreased by 59.4% and 72.7% respectively.(2) Strength check and reliability analysis of the key partsBy the ANSYS, the stress distribution of the key components of the conveying mechanism under the maximum load is calculated, and the strength of the key parts is checked according to the strength theory. But the strength check of the safety factor method can not explain the degree of safety and reliability of the rod, so the mean and standard deviation of the load in the normal distribution are analyzed according to the ADAMS postprocessing module. Thus the reliability of key components is analyzed. From the point of probability theory and mathematical statistics, the reliability of the two key components is more than 99.99%.(3) Lightweight design for key partsBecause the reliability of the key parts of the automatic conveying mechanism is too high.From the goal of saving the material and obtaining the maximum economic benefit, the key parts are optimized in structure by the ANSYS.The optimization results show that the weight of the two key components are decreased by 19.29% and 34.98% respectively, and the light weight design of the key components is accomplished.(4) Vibration analysis of automatic conveying mechanismThe datum of free vibration and forced vibration of the steel pipe automatic conveying mechanism are analyzed, and the frequency response datum of the mechanism are measured.Then the vibration characteristics of the conveying mechanism are obtained that provide the data reference for avoiding the resonance and the smooth conveying for the machine.(5) PLC control system designAccording to the movement requirements of the conveying mechanism, the PLC control system is designed based on sequence control. The control system has automatic and manual control modes. The production efficiency can be improved by the accurately automatic transmission.At the same time, the point moving under the special conditions can be realized by the manual transmission.
