To enhance Chinese air force UAV combat the effect of 3D visualization virtual implementation requirements, in this thesis, an UAV formation combat visualization system based on FlightGear is developed by using Matlab-Simulink, FlightGear, MFC and AC3 D software, This system uses powerful control calculating of the Simulink, the powerful visualization system of FlightGear and the visual application development ability of the MFC. The system can make the whole visual process take-off, formation transformation, formation keep and air combat of UAV formation appear in front of the user, at the same time provides an effective validation platform for UAV formation combat related technologies.Firstly, this thesis analyzes domestic and foreign research status of the UAV formation combat visualization system related technology, software environment demand, and proposes the research on UAV formation air combat visualization system based on FlightGear, simultaneously according to the analysis results, the overall system architecture is designed and introduced simply. Secondly, the man-machine interface is designed by loading the weather environment and runway of FlightGear, and building the UAV and missile model respectively. Then, the UAV formation transformation and keeping and the function of air combat of UAV formation is implement by using the classic PID formation control and UAV formation attack placeholder algorithm. The system implements data exchange and transmission among in input/output interface of FlightGear, a real Simulink model of UAV and man-machine interface based on UDP datagram sockets.The UAV formation visual system runs smoothly by debugging for many times and the 3D visual effect meets the needs of users, achieving the scheduled target of system.
