Although the rapid development of power electronic technology, to the use of electricity has brought many benefits, but it also caused serious pollution to the power quality. Unified power quality conditioner (UPQC) to the adjustment of the integrated power system, power quality, change the traditional power quality governance in voltage or current waveform compensation method, respectively, to be able to get a whole system of current and voltage compensation requirements, is a kind of comprehensive compensation function of the controller. In today's power quality problem is increasingly serious, UPQC undoubtedly has a broad application prospect.This paper briefly introduces the research status quo of UPQC and testing methods, introduced the existing control methods of UPQC, and put forward the existing problems in the current control method., according to the proposed problem, put forward a kind of mathematical model, considering both UPQC function coupling between series and parallel parts, and supplies the UPQC and the unity of grid, load, a mathematical model based on the design of controller, designed for the coupling system of feedforward decoupling control based on inverse system decoupling variable structure control of the control methods, the methods are unified in the parallel side and serial to the calculation and control, make the voltage compensation and current compensation synchronous coordination, at the same time avoid the mutual interference between the series and parallel side, make the system has a good compensation.For UPQC control method, designed by using Matlab/Simulink simulation verification, according to the established simulation model, we simulate the proposed control method validation, proved that compared with traditional methods, the designed system has better robustness and stability.
