With modern power system developing towards the direction of the extra high voltage, long distance, large capacity, traditional electromagnetic transformer is difficult to meet the needs of modern development because of its disadvantage of insulation structure complex, magnetic saturation, big volume and high cost and so on. In recent years, the emergence of electronic instrument transformer, which meet the needs of equipment miniaturization. intelligent, good reliability, high safety and quality of economic operation of power system, and play an important role in the digital substation. Therefore, the electronic instrument transformer engineering application reliability and precision error test method research is Meaningful.This paper firstly introduces the development of electronic mutual inductor. according to the different types of electronic transformer engineering in current application situation is detailed investigation and statistics and draw the distribution table. The factors that affect the reliability of electronic transformer engineering are summarized; Discusses the online calibration scheme of two kinds of transformer. Through study of two kinds of electronic transformer calibration scheme, considering that the accuracy and stability of current measurement. That electronic transformer can simplify the relay protection equipment, strengthen the control of microcomputer protection, the advantages to promote the development of substation automation and intelligent etc; Secondly, study on two kinds of electronic transformer basic properties, including a thorough research and working principle of the two kind of transformer. Survey with the use of unit division in the form of each component of electronic transformer system in the production process, packaging material, etc..
