The research on the properties of fractured rock mass has always been a hot issue in the field of rock and soil, because it is closely related to the actual engineering situation. At present, there are relatively more physical tests of prefabricated cracked rock mass under loading condition at home and abroad, and the numerical simulation methods such as finite element method are used to analyze and demonstrate the results. But the rock itself has characteristics of non continuous, complex structure, difficult and in situ test of large finite element numerical calculation method has certain limitations. In the actual project, the excavation unloading is very common, but the unloading experiment and numerical simulation is not much. Therefore, this paper studies on the history and status of fractured rock mass theory, experiment and numerical simulation were reviewed, found that the current relatively few problems for research in fractured rock mass based on discrete element method; Secondly Discrete Element Method and Second dimensional particle flow program made the corresponding presentation, as an example of selecting the appropriate nature and validity of the simulation software. Then access to literature comparing indoor physical model test, debug continued microscopic parameters to ensure accurate and reliable numerical simulation, numerical model needed to establish the basis on laboratory tests. By removing particles, to achieve pre-fracture model. In this paper, a total 0 °, 15 °, 30 °, 45 °, 60 °, 75 °, 90 ° and other seven cracks, fissures coincident gravity and its center of the model. Respectively, as well as the fractured rock mass intact rock uniaxial compression simulation test and continue unloading simulation test. Simulated stress- strain curve, crack propagation mechanisms, failure modes and models to analyze energy, etc., and the loading and unloading test for a certain amount of comparison.Through the above research work of this paper, some useful conclusions. This study is cracking fractured rock mass under loading and unloading conditions, failure mode and the use of the actual project has a certain reference value, but also for further study of the fractured rock mass characteristics of the foundation.
