The energy absorbing element of the vehicle can absorb the impact energy,and has the extremely important influence on the safety performance,which can reduce the impact force and protect the safety of the passengers in the vehicle.The advantages and disadvantages of the damping characteristics determine the energy absorption capacity and impact effect of the energy absorbing element.The magneto rheological damper has the advantages of continuously adjustable damping force,high efficient energy absorption characteristic and relatively flexible installation position,and has good development prospect in the field of vehicle intelligent buffer.For the quantitative analysis of vehicle with magneto rheological damper(MRD)damping characteristics,and study of MRD damping characteristics with those influencing factors,the damping characteristic of the change and what,this paper studied for vehicle frontal collision of MRD damping characteristics.By analyzing the collision process,based on the elasto dynamics of corrugated pipe resistance mechanics model and calculation model based on the theory of fluid mechanics theory and magneto rheological elastomer rheological properties of MRD damping force.From the perspective of conservation of energy,the energy dissipation in the collision process is analyzed,and the evaluation index of the buffer capacity of the other buffer components is obtained.According to the unknown parameters in the evaluation of design scheme,drop hammer impact test.On two different circulation channel of MRD drop hammer impact test,based on the damping characteristics of evaluation index and test data,in-depth study of the damping characteristics of a buffer.Finally,the two buffer damping characteristics were compared,and combines the corrugated pipe mechanical model and theoretical damping force calculation model,the influence factors of damping characteristics of the buffer and for the rational design of the control system and the optimization of the structure parameters provide theoretical basis and data support.Study concluded that,for vehicle frontal collision of MRD damping characteristics can be evaluated by the following five evaluation indicators: impact force,impact force cut rate,impact and loss factor,acceleration response instability degree and the energy absorption efficiency and so on.Impact force,impact force reduction rate,impact and loss factor,acceleration response instability is smaller,the impact of the transfer rate and energy absorption ratio is larger,buffer damping characteristics,the better.Also through the analysis of the influence factors of MRD damping characteristics.The results show that magneto rheological materials,corrugated tube structure,channel buffer structure and control current of the four aspects of the damping characteristics have a greater impact.
