With the rapid development of science and technology, in order to reduce driver in the vehicle to the applied force manipulation to, car steering system from the earlier period of the machinery to improve to today's hydraulic power steering and electric power steering. Due to the people of automobile driving safety and mild requirements also gradually improve, the electric power steering system (electric power steering EPS) is the trend obtained more and more extensive attention degree, EPS to superior to the traditional automobile technology in hydraulic power steering various characteristics of the system become the focus of research and development personnel, become today's automotive power steering problem the main research direction. Based on the theoretical study of EPS system, this paper proposes an integral sliding mode control strategy and simulation verification. The experimental bench of EPS system is built to verify the effectiveness of the EPS controller assembly.Firstly, the working principle of EPS system is analyzed, and the structural characteristics of each module of EPS system are analyzed and the dynamic model is established. Based on the analysis of the intensity of the three characteristic curves, a kind of optimization of the road intensity curve is proposed, and the power characteristic curve is optimized.Secondly, the robustness of an EPS system control design (integral sliding mode variable structure control), to estimate the system of the state and the unknown input, a detection system is presented, the integral sliding mode control is based on an improved in traditional sliding mode control.Finally, the simulation model of EPS system is established by using MATLAB/Simulink, and the simulation analysis of the integral sliding mode variable structure control verifies the feasibility and effectiveness of the control strategy. The Carsim combined with Simulink is simulated and tested, and the effectiveness of the proposed control strategy is verified by the in-situ steering test. Then through the discussion of the hardware in the loop, the design of mechanical scheme, set up the test platform, through the steering wheel angle and torque signal acquisition for turning test, verify the effect of the finished product EPS.
