As an effective way to achieve the utilization of distributed generators(DGs) in power system, microgrid has been extensively studied. An energy management system with circuit switching mechanism based on AC-DC hybrid microgrid is researched in this paper, and a corresponding energy management method is designed. The main contents are as follows:(1) An energy management system with circuit switching mechanism based on AC-DC hybrid microgrid has been studied, which possesses the advantages of AC microgrid and DC microgrid at the same time. DGs can be integrated and managed in DC microgrid and load management can be conducted in AC microgrid. Because of the switch array used for load control and installed in AC microgrid, the system proposed by this paper has one more operation mode compared with other microgrid systems, which makes the energy management system more flexible.(2) An overall model of the energy management system is established. As the energy management system integrates DGs, energy storage unit, VSC, loads and other components together, the whole system model is simultaneously obtained by component models above.(3) To keep the balance of system power and ensure normal operation, respective energy management methods are designed for different operation modes of energy management system. Based on system power balance equations under different operation modes, system control center takes the charge of coordination of the various components of the system. Then, the methods get simulated in the simulation environment.The research results show that the energy management methods with circuit switching mechanism based on AC-DC hybrid microgrid can achieve the goal that DGs obtains highly efficient utilization and loads could be controlled in the premise of the stable operation of the system. Demand side management also can be done by load switching autonomously.
