Numerical Analysis On Seismic Performance Of Reinforced Concrete Frame Structure With Staircase

As a traditional vertical transport corridor and an emergency evacuation route of the structure, the importance of staircase is self-evidence. The staircase is often destroyed before the main structure under seismic action, affecting its use as a secure channel. Base on the current design code, the influence of staircase is not considered when a frame structure is designed. The analysis is simplified. A hole is punched in the floor slab of the staircase and the load of staircase is applied to the beams around. However, according to the phenomena of earthquake disaster, the aseismic performance of frame structure is obviously influenced by the staircase. Thus, the staircase effect on frame structure under seismic action need further study.In this paper, based on a six storey of reinforced concrete frame structure, three groups which include six frame structure models were built using the structural design code Midas Gen. Each group has a different staircase layout. As a control, each group has two models, the staircase of one model were not included in the analysis of frame structure. Modal analysis, response spectrum analysis, elastic time-history analysis, elasto-plastic analysis were carried out on the models. First, the aseismic performance and the changes of internal forces of structure member were compared between models with and without staircases. Secondly the influence of different layouts of staircase was studied. Finally the research results were summarized, the design method of the stairs components and frame structure design methods considering staircase effect were proposed.
