The shaft system of ship is the most important part of the power plant, the qualities of shafting alignment have a vital role to ensure the long-term normal vessels. The bearings in ship stern shaft tube are special structure sliding bearings in complex stress states, working in extremely bad lubrication conditions. The bad shafting alignment from shipyard can cause ship stern shaft tube bad fever in the process of driving, bearings in tube damage and huge economic losses, affect the public praise of quality in the industry.This article attempts to master the working state of the shaft system through calculation and simulation method, consider the deflection, rotation, bending moment and shear force of every sections, draw the deflection curve. To start from the applied mechanics, using the mechanics of theory output balance equations, using the mechanics of materials find the relationship between the shear force, bending moment, rotation and deflection, list the integral equations, finally deduce the calculation principle of the transfer matrix method; simulate for finite element using AN SYS software, establish the shaft model and geometry, load and boundary conditions, finally calculate the elastic deflection curve of the shaft.The source program in appendix is my original creation C++ program according to the principle of transfer matrix, it describes every shaft sections relationship between the mechanical vectors when the shaft is under cold balance. The support forces of the stern bearing and the stem bearing calculate using method by field measurement and computer error try combination. Because of the bearings in the stern tube, its support forces cannot be measured directly, the results of indirectly measuring are not accurate also, its can reference only. The support forces from error try can generate into the program to see its values correct for influence to the shaft other sections or not, if it is incorrect, adjust the values for error try to fit other sections.This study is based on the VLCC vessel building on shipyard, the main data is referenced for process file or field measurement. This ship type is series, every ships of this type will be slightly different in construction process, so this ship data can't completely copy to other ships, but has a certain reference significance.
