Horizontal bearing characteristics research of pile has been a foundation engineering problems. But under the slope condition, this characteristics research is still in a relatively blank stage. Based on a 500 kv transmission line project in southwest China, selecting the actual topography and the soil type, according to the transmission line iron tower pile foundation standard downhill to the level of the pile static load test, combined with numerical simulation for single pile bearing characteristics of gravel soil slope research, include the pile's bending moment, pile displacement, soil pressure and deformation of pile soil. The following are the main cognition and conclusions:(1) Pile displacement under horizontal load is nonlinear decreasing from the pile top down, and displacement change mobile clusters gradually to the pile with the increase of slope.(2) The bearing capacity of pile foundation decreases with the increase of slope, gradient increase every 15 ° in gravel soil field, capacity reduces about 5% ~ 17%. Fall of horizontal bearing capacity of pile foundation as the foundation slope increases.(3) In different slope, pile produced action of bending deformation mainly in the upper under horizontal load, corresponding to the foundation soil in pile length range gradually appear to yield, destroy down from the surface. Produced by the internal force of the piles with the soil yield increases gradually, both decay quickly down along the pile body.(4) Pile side soil deformation and failure is a gradual process under horizontal load. In the first, crack is produced at the pile soil interface. Crack width and length of pile soil increases with the increase of load.(5) Numerical simulation results show that, In the different grade of pile foundation under the horizontal load, the stress mainly concentrated near the pile top, and down to a greater depth. soil displacement along the slope and depth range increased with the large slope. More close-grained, soil deformation of the pile side decreases, and more concentrated in the upper soil layer.(6) Through the field test, theoretical calculation, numerical simulation results are fitted, put forward in four different slope interval of pile foundation horizontal bearing capacity characteristic value of adjustment coefficient.
