Surface roughness is the essential parameter that balances surface quality of workpiece.It greatly affects machine parts' usage performance and reliability.Today,with the manufacturing industry developing all the time,the requirement for surface roughness of workpiece is increasing.In this article,basing on consulting a lot of literature at home and abroad,the affecting factors of surface roughness and methods of modeling are analyzed.According to the basic theory of cutting,taking the cylinder surface of turning as an example,this article studies the digital modeling of surface roughness systematically,and the factors' affecting regularity for surface roughness.The main contents are as follows:In chapter one,the current research status of virtual manufacturing technology and the model of surface roughness are introduced.It articulates the topic's background of study,and analyzes obvious shortage that exists presently.The model of surface roughness is short of generality,it cannot quantify the effect of machine tool motion error to surface roughness;and virtual manufacturing technology have not applied enough about surface roughness.Therefore,this article comes up with surface roughness model based on virtual process,and analyzes the regularity of machine tool's motion error on surface roughness.In chapter two,it is significant impact that surface roughness for machine parts' usage performance.Through the description of the formation of turning process and surface roughness,it analyzes affecting factors of surface roughness.The most of models of surface roughness that exists lately are only used for analyzing the effect of cutting parameters and tool parameters for surface roughness.However,it cannot study the affection of machine tool errors and tool vibration on surface roughness.Based on it,aiming at the deficiency of research at present stage,this chapter puts forward the research ideas and methods of surface roughness modeling based on virtual processing,and analyzes surface roughness,comprehensively.In chapter three,it combines the motion error of machine tool and formation of surface roughness.It is necessary that establishes the effective surface roughness model with the control of surface roughness as the destination.According to the theories of multi-body system and the homogeneous coordinate transformation,establishing the model of machine tool's motion error and the tool,reproducing cylinder surface of turning with machining principle and virtual manufacturing technology,which reacts reasonably machine tool parts' position-pose error parameters,the movement error parameters on the cylinder virtual surface.This model has better operation and generality.It also makes the result of analyzing to have better target.In this paper,the details of how to establish and use the model of surface roughness are introduced,which bases the foundation for realizing quantification of surface roughness.In chapter four,taking the radial pulsation of machine tool spindle and tool vibration as the examples,according to the model of surface roughness,can obtain the influences of different error factors on surface roughness.In this paper,assuming the radial pulsation of machine tool spindle and tool vibration are the harmonic vibration,and using MATLAB simulates the virtual workpiece surface which exists radial pulsation of spindle and tool vibration.On the surface with error,using Gauss filter principle gets the evaluating reference line of error surface and surface roughness profile,and realizes the quantification of surface roughness.It obtains the regularity of radial pulsation of machine tool spindle,tool vibration,tool parameters on surface roughness.At the same time,it reflects the correctness of the surface roughness model based on virtual process.In chapter five,it summarizes the research of this paper,and looks into the subsequent research of surface roughness.
