At present,most of the deformation researches about mechanical seal are focused on the working process after production,while not involve the deformation occurred in the process of storage after mechanical processing.Several products of the mosaic-type mechanical seal device appear seal failure in normal temperature,non-work state after storage for a period of time.Aiming at this problem,the Finite Element Method is adopted to calculate and analyze the displacement distribution of the sealing ring after assembly and to investigate the influence of the dimensional and shape tolerance in fitting surface on sealing performance.Secondly,as one of the rotating ring constitute material,one feature of graphite is creep,which has influence on the sealing performance of rotating ring in the storage.In this paper,axisymmetric model was established based on the requirement of rotating ring’s tolerance.First of all,calculate the deformation result of rotating ring in ideal interference fit state,analyze the influence of the ideal size status on sealing performance of rotating ring by calculating the radial displacement difference along the axial mating surfaces and the height difference of graphite ring’s sealing surface.Secondly,because of the level of manufacturing and machining accuracy,fit dimension of graphite ring and rotating seat randomly distributes in the range of limiting size,which makes deformation result of fitting surface is different from the ideal size status,therefore,the influence of interference assembly limit of size distribution on the surface of the contact state on sealing property should be analyzed.According to the results,put forward improvement measures.Thirdly,ring structure needs to consider not only the effect of dimensional tolerance distribution state in meridian plane on sealing performance but also the uneven distribution cylindrical error in fitting surface.Finally,considering the creep effect of graphite ring and the limit size state of the rotating ring,calculate and analysis the effect of creep deformation of graphite ring on the sealing performance of rotating ring.
