The power supply reliability of distribution network is the first quality requirements.The basic task of the distribution network is safe, reliable and economic transmission and distribution the electric energy to users The significance of power distribution system reliability evaluation is use the scientific, economic method, maximize use of capability of equipment, to all the users with continuous, high quality of electric energy, so as to achieve the complete safety and quality management. Distribution network at the end of the power system, combined with the users, the reliability of distribution network directly reflects the power supply capacity and quality of the power system. So, its reliability is a important part that the power supply departments and users shuld to focus on.In this paper. first introduced the distribution network reliability evaluation research purpose and the environment. To describe the present situation of the domestic and international distribution network reliability and theory development direction, summarizes the general method of reliability assessment and compared advantages and disadvantages. Induction of the basic data for calculating system reliability, introduced the reliability index, which provides the theoretical basis of the software development work.Based on the current distribution network of general wiring and contacts, put forward a new distribution network based data structured coding method. Then based on Failure mode effect analysis method developed a distribution network software. The software using ant colony algorithm optimization calculation the Failure mode effect analysis method, then used the different effects on the load point in feeder element to accumulation, directly calculate the load point reliability index; For power distribution system with Load transfer, with reference to the distributed power grid islanding algorithm is incorporated into the proposed applicable to turn for distribution system reliability transfer region judgment method, and give the calculation formula of the reliability to the load transfer area. Gives the calculation method of the according to the pre arrangement of distribution network reliability assessment of power. After considering the effects of fault transfer and pre arrangement of power outages, a series of theoretical methods for the reliability evaluation of distribution systems with different conditions are obtained.Using this algorithm and software to analysis an instance of the distribution network of jiangxi province. It figure out that the feeder System reliability index and Load point reliability index, comparison results show that the software calculation results are accurate and fast, for distribution network structure more clear, can meet the requirements of distribution network operation and planning for reliability calculation and in the distribution network planning and design has a certain practical value.
