With the in-depth study of shear deformation of asphalt pavement, more and more researchers will focus on the performance of the road shear resistance of asphalt mixture.But there is no asphalt pavement design specifications for the shear strength and the corresponding detection methods to develop clear rules in our use.This paper based on summarizes and analyzes the devices and methods of shear performance tests for asphalt mixture,devised a simple torsional shear test device, and the proposed test method is applicable to the device.In the basis of summarizing the strength theory, according to the loading mode of torsional shear test and the deformation characteristics of specimen.Using geometry, physics and mechanics of materials knowledge analysis on stress distribution and theoretical calculation method.of the maximum shear stress about cylindrical test piece under torsion.At the same time, through the ANSYS software, using the finite element analysis of the asphalt mixture specimen stress state in this experiment.Traditional performance test for the use of raw materials,such as aggregate and asphalt.Design test requires the use of AC-13 and SMA-13 two kinds of gradation.Focuses on the specific steps for torsional shear test and corresponding calculation method of the shear strength.And the use of torsional shear test and uniaxial penetration test comparison of the experimental results of two graded.Use torsional shear tests to study the shear behavior of asphalt mixture at different gradation, different temperatures, different conditions of loading speed and exploring this discipline.Formulate the torsional shear fatigue test scheme is based on the analysis of fatigue damage characteristics.According to the fatigue performance of asphalt mixture,using torsional shear test device and test method of fatigue test,to probe into the law of shear fatigue life of AC-13 under the temperature of 60 ? and stress ratio.Using the logarithmic regression equation of the shear fatigue.Testing method for torsional shear is developed in this paper can be used to evaluate theinspection and judgement, the shear strength of asphalt mixture,Hope to provide reference for the establishment of detection method for asphalt pavement design shearresistance test related.
