As a new kind of smart electric active material, dielectric elastomer material can be used in the field of drive, as a excellent material for artificial muscle. It also can be used in the field of power generation. Dielectric elastomer material has outstanding characteristics, such as high energy density, large deformation, simple structure, low cost. It can be efficiently coupled to wind energy, ocean energy and other natural resources, through simple mechanical transmission structure. So the material has broad application prospects in the use of renewable energy power generation areas. In recent years more and more domestic and foreign scholars had been attracted to research.The dielectric elastomer is a kind of organic polymer dielectric material, which needs a certain amount of charge to generate electricity. In present study, dielectric elastomer generator needs permanent connection to an external connected high voltage bias source to obtain bias charge. High-voltage bias power supply is a major obstacle to future dielectric elastomer generator industry application. This paper research on mechanism of the dielectric elastomer generator self bias, the purpose is through self-filling mechanism to realize generation cycle under low voltage environment, at the same time, in rest of the generation process needs no longer bias power supply connected. The main contents of this paper are as follows:This paper analyzed the generation principle of dielectric elastomer material, the dielectric elastomer generator electromechanical energy conversion mechanism, the power factors of theoretical analysis. This paper also analyzed the electromechanical coupling characteristics of uniaxial tensile dielectric elastomer generator.The relationship between equivalent capacitance of dielectric elastomer and mechanical deformation were tested; experimental study the power generation characteristics of the dielectric elastomer generator under high bias conditions. Experimental study about the relationship between dielectric elastomer generator output voltage and the bias voltage,deformation rate, deformation.Based on the classical theory, this paper analyzed the principle of charge pump.According to the charge pump working principle, study the dielectric elastomer generator self-filling principle. Analysis of the self-filling dielectric elastomer generator energy conversion process and working process. Analysis of the self-filling dielectric elastomer generator output voltage and its change rules.This paper designed and built a self-filling dielectric elastomer generator experimental platform. This paper designed and manufactured the self-filling circuit three level charge pump. The self-filling circuit is capable of storing electric charge, and can provide a biascharge to the dielectric elastomer generator for generating. The output voltage of the self-filling dielectric elastomer generator under low voltage condition is tested. The testing results showed that the increase of output voltage of the dielectric elastomer generator with deformation rate and deformation increases. The average variation of the output voltage of the dielectric elastomer generator is chosen as a measure, to study the effect of deformation rate and deformation on power generation.
