In 2013, the completion of Zhengzhou Rail Transit Line 1 had been greatly easing the traffic congestion. Power transmission system acts as an important part of urban rail system and must be solved firstly. Thus, to ensure the stability of urban rail in Zhengzhou and to protect the city public power grid, we will take the Zhengzhou Rail Transit Line 1 as the main research entity, specifically to explore the issues of transit power supply mode, the rectifier theory and harmonic analysis.In this paper, the main modes of electric power transmission in home and abroad urban rail transit systems are studied, and several alternative methods of power transmission modes based on the traffic situation in Zhengzhou are analyzed. We provide a transit power supply mode which is adapt to the Zhengzhou city. Under Matlab/ Simulink environment, 12-pulse and 24-pulse rectifier unit model are constructed and analyzed. The results show that the advantages of multi pulse rectifier. In addition, we analyze the potential hazard of harmonic, and provide some harmonic control measures based on the specific situation of Zhengzhou.
