With the sustained and rapid development of nation economy in China, the newly-built and construction of railways has become a necessary part in transport. Different types of problems may be faced, such as landslide and collapse in building the railway, anti-slide pile and Sheet-pile retaining wall have been widely used in project example, however, because the research aim at support structure in thrust load caused slope which is relatively rare. Therefore,based on Yu-Huai Railway Expansion project, this paper studies soil's mechanical characteristics and damage form in the case of unsupported, anti-slide pile retaining and pile-sheet retaining wall through indoor model test separately, to contrast two types of retaining pile bodies' stress and deformation law, and combine with the finite element numerical simulation method to analyze. The main research results we obtained as follows:(1)Through studying research situation and formation mechanism of sheet-pile retaining wall and anti-slide pile home and abroad, analyzing the mechanical characteristics of soil arching on anti-slide piles, summarizing evolutionary process of thrust load caused landslide,and combining the characteristics of the actual work, aiming at present problems, it proposed this paper study's research design and main content.(2)Designing thrust load caused slope, through laboratory based testing to test the features of materials, and using the unsupported slope model test to verify most the dangerous sliding surface, which use artificial pre-sliding surface as model, to prepare for subsequent model tests.(3)Through three kinds of model tests this paper studies stress states and failure mechanism of soil in thrust load caused landslide test, and contrast the deformation characteristic of the middle pile in anti-slide pile retaining test and pile-sheet retaining wall test. It summarizes the deformation rules of the two piles and studies the destruction of slope in three stages, then gets the stage of slope deformation control and the increasing rate of support bearing capacity after setting retaining plank behind pile.(4)Studying on the front and back of pile's soil pressure distribution characteristics in different loading stage of two tests under the action of horizontal thrust, the article finds that setting retaining plank could control the rate of pile's soil pressure change effectively, but the soil pressure rises to maximum in the same location after destroying in two tests.(5)According to strain the article calculates the bending moment of the piles and observes its regularities of distribution, and contrasts piles' mechanical characteristics and deformation rule. It determines the critical failure surface position of pile shaft and verifies with the location of shear failure of soil.(6) Based on Midas-GTS 3D finite element model, this paper contrasts the entiredeformation and supporting structure's mechanical characteristics and deformation rule under the dead load of sheet-pile retaining wall and anti-slide piles' operating condition, and contrasts with the results of model test. It finds the rules for the impact of the different loading position on the stress and deformation characteristics of supporting structure to provide a reference for practical engineering application.
