Micro structure devices are widely used in aerospace and engineering areas, because of the advantages of its small size, compact structure and powerful function. When the micro structure devices with specific functions were designed, in addition to studying the manufacturing method of micro structure devices, we should also design the measurement scheme of micro structure’s geometrical dimensions, and analyzed the accuracy of the measurement results. In this paper, the research object was the electricity liquid servo valve applied to the space field, a new vision measuring system was developed applied to measure the geometrical dimensions of micro air gap. The structure of the measurement system was designed, finished hardware selection and purchase, and built the measurement system. Apart from this, the software system was developed, including the camera calibration system, the power supply system, the database system, and so on. Finally, the accuracy of the results was analyzed, and analyzed the relationship between measurement system’s assembly error and measurement error. The main work of this paper is as follows.The gap measurement system based on computer vision detection technology was developed, and then finished hardware selection and construction of this system. This system was based on the non-contact measurement method, and realized the on line dynamic measurement. According to the specific requirements of assembly and measurement, the selection of hardware system were finished, including image acquisition module, power source and light source module, working hardware module, and the computer module. Built the vision measurement system, enable this system to work properly.The software system applied to assist the measurement functions was developed. Such as, the calibrating system was exploited to analyze the relationship between physical dimensions and pixel size. The database system was developed to store and manage measured data.The accuracy of the results was analyzed, studied the main reason of the measurement error, and analyzed the relationship between measurement system’s assembly error and the measurement error. The theoretical model was established to calculate the measurement error caused by the object’s deflection. The experiment project was designed to verify the correctness of the theoretical model. The theoretical model was used for testing the measurement error. The air gap measuring experiment was developed to verify the accuracy and efficiency comparing with the results of the tool microscope. Results show that the measured results of the air gap measuring system can achieve the accuracy requirements.
