Nowadays, urban construction are developing greatly. A great deal of deep excavation engineering has been coming forth. To these projects, it's not appropriate to design by conventional method based on triaxial compression tests. So, the design method based on unloading stress paths tests should be adopted. In addition, excavation engineering tends to be constructed in impacted area. Therefore, in engineering design and construction of foundation pit excavation, the interplay between the excavations and the nearby piles should be considerated.Basing on such background, this paper study on the interplay between the excavations and the nearby piles, the main achievements of the research and conclusions given by the simulation results are summed up as follows.(1) Using GDS triaxial test system, simulating the actual stress path of soil in the process of excavation, a modified formula of estimating the Ko coefficients for over-consolidated clays is proposed.(2) By comparing the results of the simulation considering the over-consolidated soil and the simulation do not considering it. The maximum horizontal displacement of ground, the maximum bottom heave and the maximum bending moment of adjacent piles which considering the impact of the over-consolidated soil are about 10% smaller than that do not considering it.(3)The simulation considering the impacts of over-consolidation ratio can reflect the foundation pit excavation unloading. Therefore, it is necessary to consider the changes of over-consolidation ratio in the numerical analysis of deep excavation.(4) Considering the impacts of over-consolidation ratio, then the finite element method was used to analyze the pit excavation, making comparison between computing results and measure results to prove the validity of the model. After that, the interplay between the excavations and the nearby piles was study.
