With the speed development of wind power, the problem of wind curtailment caused by "wind-heat conflict" is more and more serious, which has been paid great attention. The main reason of the conflict lies in the situation that in order to meet the heat demand of heating period in winter, combined heat and power (CHP) units must improve the minimum output of electricity production, which leads to the poverty of space for wind power. Studies has shown that this limit can be uncoupled by installing heat accumulators with CHP plants to reduce the abandoned wind power. And the optimal capacity determination of heat accumulators is the implementation of the scheme. This article expand research on this issue, and the main work and achievements are presented as follows:Effective assessment of abandoned wind power before and after the installing of heat accumulators is the foundation of the implementation of the scheme, so a new evaluation model of abandoned wind power for power system with heat accumulators is proposed. Based on the operation strategy of heat accumulators aims at assessment of abandoned wind power, this model consider constraints during the storing/releasing process of heat accumulators, can make effective assessments of abandoned wind power after the installing of heat accumulators to CHP plants, to obtain the abandoned wind power accommodated through heat accumulators. Based on the practical operated data of a province power grid during heating period, hourly simulation for abandoned wind power with heat accumulators installed to CHP plants is made, which demonstrates the effectiveness of the proposed model, and factors for accommodating abandoned wind power were analyzed.On this basis, a determination method of optimal capacity for heat accumulators installed to CHP plants is proposed. On the perspective of national economic indice, cost model and benefit model of scheme are established, the optimal capacity of heat accumulators installed to CHP plants are determined through analyzing of the marginal net present value. Based on the abandoned wind power accommodated described above, the benefit model consider economical and environmental benefit. Based on the province power grid described above, research of optimal capacity for heat accumulators installed to CHP plants is processed, and factors'sensitivity are analyzed.The research showed that the configuration of heat accumulators to CHP plants is an effective measure to solve the problem of large-scale wind curtailment, and the scheme has basic conditions for putting into practice. The article provides a reference for the actual production.
