Cracks in concrete structures has always been an important issue on which engineering researchers concern and pay attention,except in terms of control and reduce the occurrence of cracks in the design,construction and materials,the use of the corresponding means of detection,timely detection of cracks and expansion is also an important issue related to the case of crack problems.There are two main methods to detect the surface crack of concrete structure,one is artificial reading detection,and the other is computer-based image analysis.The former relies on the experience and sense of responsibility of the testing person,which resulting the lack of of the data objectivity.And the latter needs computer processing,so that real-time test data can not be obtained,which means convenience is not enough.Given the shortcomings of manual reading detection method and computer image analysis,as well as the penetration and the improvement of the processing speed of smart phone,the characteristic parameters of concrete structural crack detection based smart phones is very necessary.In this study,we access to a lot of literature.Firstly,the overall scheme crack detection software development was designed,in which the image processing is one of the key technologies of this study.The image processing is to deposit image into the matrix into memory,and then using various algorithms to process.In this paper,the optimal threshold between the law and the two Otsu binarization threshold selection process of the most common methods were introduced,and it was used in three different interface binary processing including concrete,cement mortar and paint.By comparison,the optimal threshold value method was selected as the cracks binarization algorithms.Secondly,this article defined the test parameters of fracture characteristics of the concrete structure surface,briefly introduced the calculation method of the crack area,length and width,and also compared and selected the main computational methods which combined with cracks in concrete structures and the characteristics of smart phones.Then,we provided an overview of the features and compilation flow of Java language,the architecture,features,advantages of Eclipse,and also the feature and system framework of Android system.The study also detailed how to build a Java development environment,and eventually accomplished the software development of crack detection,using Java language in the Eclipse platform programming.Finally,a popular smart phone Samsung I9268 was selected as the software operating environment,and simulated cracks and concrete block cracks were observed respectively.The result was compared with the one of the crack reading microscope measurement,thus the accuracy of crack detection software was verified.In this paper,the smart phone and concrete structural crack detection technology were integrated,and the software to detect cracks in concrete structure based on smart phone was developed,using which the maximum width and an average width of cracks could be identified and calculated.The software can be used in quality control of concrete structures in construction site,and also can be applied on the safety testing of the housing structure for every smart phone users.
