As a small distribution system, the microgrid can get a certain area of the distributed power together to achieve self control and management. Energy storage technology is a key technology of the microgrid. It can stabilize the power fluctuations of renewable energy, realize the power load, improve the power quality, and enhance the system stability and reliability. The hybrid energy storage system(HESS), which combines the advantages of different energy storage technologies, has better system features, and is the development direction of the energy storage technology. For the application of HESS based on the battery and supercapacitor, this paper analyzes the control strategy and capacity optimization, and the research contents are as follows:At first, this paper introduces the microgrid and the working principle of the distributed power generation technology, and set up the mathematical model of wind power, photovoltaic, miniature gas tuebine and HESS. For the application of the hybrid energy storage system in the independent microgrid, using genetic algorithm to optimize the capacity configuration.Based on the analysis of the characteristics of microgrid grid-connected and islanded operation, it considers the real-time electricity price and the lack of power to establish the economy evaluation index and the load power shortage index. For renewable energy output power fluctuations and imbalance of supply and demand of power in the grid, this paper presents a control strategy based on wavelet packet and fuzzy control. The control strategy is simulated by MATLAB from microgrid grid-connected and islanded operation. The results show that the control strategy can make the microgrid run with better economic performance and reliability.Electric vehicle(EV) detail power grid through the charge and discharge facilities, can incorporate the renewable sources and participate in the microgrid operation as energy storage unit. On the basis of the mathematical model of EV, this paper studies the influence of EVs on the capacity allocation of the HESS in two different situations, which is based on the operation economy and energy storage equipment. Using the improved genetic algorithm in MATLAB, the results show that the EV can be used as energy storage unit in the operation of microgrid, which can reduce the storage capacity and improve the economic performance of microgrid operation.
