In order to decrease the wire transmission loss in recent years, the China State Grid Corp has strengthened the application of energy-saving efforts of the wire and marketed high conductivity steel-cored aluminum strand, aluminum alloy-cored aluminum stranded wire and medium intensity aluminum stranded wire. Because of its effect of energy-saving wire, its development is highly valued by cable companies The high conductivity steel-cored aluminum stranded wire is made of high conductivity aluminum wire, so high conductivity aluminum conductor development has attracted wide attention. Based on conventional steel-cored aluminum stranded wire, the high conductivity steel-cored aluminum stranded wire is added elements of the alloy system optimization and coupled with a series of processes to ensured the conductivity increased the conductivity to 63%In this paper, I first compare the technical and economic comparison between 4kinds of energy saving wires and ordinary steel-cored aluminum stranded wire in power transfer line engineering of 220 k V. I compared of its electrical properties,including carrying capacity, transmission power and electric energy loss; compared economy, considering the cost factors of design, construction and operation, and analyzed of the advantages and characteristics of energy-saving wire.In addition, in order to study the influencing factors of high conductivity conductor's conductivity, I carried out density measurement, resistance measurement and a series of experiments on high conductivity aluminum specimen and obtained more accurate conductivity. Finally, the alloy system and the porosity associated with the conductivity of high conductivity steel-cored aluminum stranded wire were analyzed to put forward general elements of high conductivity aluminum used and sum up the possible way to improve the conductivity of aluminium wire.
