In this paper, the design of trumpet shaped interchange in second tier cities(Hengyang) is studied. Because based on the traditional design method, the quality of its linear boundaries is very vague, by design workers eyes visual judgment is difficult to detect problems, often these potential blind to traffic operations into the accident occurred,resulting in the loss of damage to the lives and safety of personnel and property, time. In view of the blind spot problem existing in the design of trumpet shaped interchange in small and medium sized cities in China,this paper adopts the method of investigation and statistics of operation speed, and gets the change law of the running speed of the ramp.In Hunan Province, Hengyang City trumpet interchange(part) of research(mainly on the high-speed toll station near the trumpet interchange, including single trumpet interchange and double trumpet Interchange), statistical data processing, the operating speed model experiment on the ramp, ramp and feature points(including nose the curvature and velocity model), which has its limitations, but the alignment design of trumpet interchange to the Hengyang area, still has a useful reference value in design, based on the experimental data, theestablishment of mathematical model, the design of blind spot is obtained by experiments model to find the potential should not be aware of the overpass design, and the exploration of the causes of the proposal are modified, and finally to evaluate and design using VISSIM software has been found useful interchange improve。Main part is a trumpet interchange ramp horizontal curve radius and speed model, including the tapered end, slow polka dots, curved point of linear position parameters and operation speed between relation model.Through the model, of interchange ramp alignment to check for modifications find hiding is not easy to detect deficiencies in highway alignment design, lock the key problems, then analyze the reasons, to modify the optimization adjustment of alignment design, combined with the microscopic simulation software VISSIM to before and after modification of interchange ramp is simulated and compared. The results showed that the evaluation results are finally summarized. Steps:experiment, statistical modeling, linear modification, simulation evaluation, summary. For trumpet shaped interchange, the second tier cities in the design of the interchange to make a little research on its local traffic construction has a useful reference value.
