Economy is a key factor to achieve business success for an aircraft model, direct operating cost is an important indicator of aircraft economic assessment. Direct maintenance cost of aircraft components accounts for a large proportion of the direct operating cost. In the initial design phase, direct maintenance cost of components is the basis of the expected distribution of the direct maintenance cost. In the operation and maintenance stage, direct maintenance cost of aircraft components have a significant impact to airline's better planning and management. Therefore, the direct maintenance cost estimation of aircraft components is very important.This paper collected and standardized the direct maintenance cost of aircraft components data and proposed mean time between unscheduled removal estimation method. Based on ADABOOST algorithm, direct maintenance cost model of aircraft components was established. The results showed that the model of ADABOOST is better in prediction accuracy, generalization performance and stability than the model of partial least square, extreme learning machine and support vector machine. The accuracy of root mean square error, mean square error, sum of the squared errors and mean absolute error are improved by at least 30%. The estimation system of direct maintenance cost of aircraft components is friendly, simple operation and easy to post-maintenance and expansion. The system can reach to the purpose of estimating direct maintenance cost of aircraft components.
