With the rapid development of society and the increasing volume of traffic, more and more tunnels were built. However, there are a lot of uncertainties during the construction of tunneling; what is more, it is very intricate of mutual interactions between various risk factors. So the work which supervised by the safety risk managers in tunnel construction is becoming more and more heavy, that is unsatisfied with traditional artificial methods. Therefore, a variety of assessment system is been developed to assist managers in tunnel construction safety risk management. In the thesis, the author has developed a risk assessment system for large span tunnel construction on the basis of construction technique and risk analysis, and has established a complete and reliable system that is easy for the manager to supervise tunnel security. The main achievements of this research have the following four aspects:(1) Summarize and identify about risk factors of tunnel safety.(2) Construct a risk assessment system for secure large span tunnel construction.(3) Base on Microsoft Visual Studio platform, we have developed a risk assessment system for large span tunnel construction which apply Microsoft SQL Server database and the C Programming Language, the system intelligentize safety risk assessment of tunnel construction.(4) Take Tan Shu Wan Tunnel as example, which h as successfully applied about the safety risk assessment system for large span tunnel construction to practical engineering.
