Hydro-mechanical variable transmission(HMCVT for short) is a parallel transmission combined by mechanical and hydraulic transmission,which has characteristics with high efficiency of mechanical transmission and variable speed of hydraulic transmission.Its adoption can greatly improve the vehicle's power,economy and the level of automation. It is now widely used in special operation vehicles such as tractor,sanitation vehicles,military special vehicles and so on,its adoption can effectively solve the matching motive power at working conditions,so the study of HMCVT have great significance.Firstly,the paper introduces the related research on HMCVT at home and abroad,analyzes the structure characteristics of hydraulic mechanical variable transmission and its basic characteristics.Then through the comparative analysis of the characteristics of different transmission forms,analysing the variable speed characteristics and power distribution characteristics of the 36 kinds of modes of Compound Coupled HMCVT,deducing the respective relations,and providing a theoretical basis for the matching analysis of vehicle's project requirements and structure design.Secondly,based on the basic characteristics of different transmissions of Compound Coupled HMCVT,combined with the actual working conditions of the sanitation vehicle,we choose a transmission model which meets the requirements of sanitation vehicle,and then conduct the vehicle performance matching calculation,analysis the variable speed characteristics and torque characteristics,and verify that the model meets actual working condition requirements of the sanitation vehicle whether or not.And then,modeling and simulation for the transmission system through the AMESim software, analysing the basic characteristic of the Compound Coupled HMCVT,verifying the theoretical analysis in front.Finally analysing its static and dynamic characteristics,getting the characteristic curve of HMCVT under different conditions,proving it can satisfy the actual needs.Finally, we set the test bench for testing and verifying its performance.The paper conducts the performance test of the Output Coupled HMCVT and the design of the test plan of the Compound Coupled HMCVT,and has a comparison analysis of the simulation results of the Compound Coupled HMCVT and Output Coupled HMCVTfor verifying that the Compound Coupled HMCVT has advantage and meets the needs of the practical engineering whether or not.
