It's nearly forty years since reform and opening up, with integrative national power promoted and urban developing, urban water consumption surge sharply. But the elder water supply system cannot meet the requirement. The imbalance between supply and demand of water became bottleneck of urban development. Through survey, investigate and theoretical analysis, the followed reasons cause the imbalance. Firstly, the water distribution system was irrational,it lead to pressure imbalance of the system. Secondly, with the distribution pipe was old and suffer the corrosion, the leakage was high. Thirdly, the infrastructure of system such as pump station was old and archive of the system was not completed. The water distribution system as a huge, many factors and nodes controlled system has complicated structure, instant, sustained operated, imperceptible character. For imperceptible problem, usually use modeling to resolve. Without systematic calculate, operation would suffer series problem and affect normal running. However, modeling to simulate the operation of whole water distribution system could resolve its kind problem. Through modeling and debugging, the implementing was the best way for economics and technical.Base on rehabilitation planning of the water distribution system for H with single water source and J city with multiple water source in Northeast China, firstly, using relatively simple H city explore the natural characteristics of urban water distribution networks, introduces basic knowledge of the networks modelling and its application. Through modeling of H city distribution network, success in simulating the process of the H city water network. Through calibrating and test, the model fit well. Integrative the urban master planning, give the expansion plan of water network using the model to technical and economical optimized design, modify 36 pipe section of old network. The highest water pressure of network decrease from 59 m to 49 m, the highest speed also decrease from 3.0 m/s to 1.5 m/s and head lost change from 10 m/km to 3 m/km. For more complicated J city, model also fit well and using model give best practical design of water network, modify the 48 pipe section. The highest water pressure of network decrease from 54 m to 45 m, the highest speed also decrease from 2.5 m/s to 1.2 m/s and head lost change from 27m/km to 2.5 m/km.
