The main factors causing a traffic accident are vehicles, roads and people, and the accidents which are caused by people occupy the highest proportion of 90%. Research on vehicle active safety policy is operated to provide the accurate, real-time and reasonable information of vehicle safety and warning for the drivers and other traffic participants. In extreme dangerous circumstances, the vehicle safety system will take over the vehicle's braking system from driver, which aims to reduce the large number of accidents. To conclude,with great significance, the research on vehicle collision avoidance method is conducive to the prevention of traffic accidents, the decline of incidence of traffic accidents, the improvement of safety level of transportation participants.This paper focuses on vehicular high-speed wireless communication network based on technology of wireless access in vehicular environment and collecting the fundamental data for the research of vehicle active safety collision avoidance strategy which includes the security state information, road information provided by the road side equipment and the speed and location information of vehicles acquired by the advanced vehicular positioning terminal. In addition, the safety distance model based on the characteristics of drivers' operating has be analyzed to reflect the operating characteristics of drivers. The technology of wireless access in vehicular environment and gene expression programming algorithm was used to improve the vehicle safety distance model which aims to predict the nonlinear relationship between the relative deceleration, expectation distance and the vehicles' initial speed during the process of vehicle braking. Results show that this method has the higher forecast accuracy of relative deceleration and expectation distance. Using the forecast results,three security state alert system has been established to provide the real-time and secure assisted information for the drivers for the warning of dangers. Finally, the research of collision avoidance strategy based on the technology of wireless access in vehicular environment has been concluded to analyze the achievements and to show the developing direction in this area.
