The paper can be divided into two parts, One is preparation and characterization of powder, The other is growth and characterization of crystal. Chemical co-precipitation method and high-temperature solid state sintering method were adopted to synthesize powder. The precursor and polycrystal synthesized by coprecipitation method were tested by TG-DTA, XRD, SEM, FI-IR and Raman testing methods. The polycrystalline synthesized by sintering process was tested by XRD method. The block made by powder was used as raw material to grow crystal. Czochralski method, medium frequency induction heating, iridium crucible were adopted to grow crystal. By modifying atmosphere, controlling pulling and rotating rate and the speed of temperature-up and temperature-down technical parameters,the crystal was obtained. The crystal was characterized by XRD, IR, Raman analysis methods. The excellent magneto-optical performance is confirmed by high Verdet constant,high extinction ratio and high laser damage threshold of crystal. |
