The article researches on dividing VSC-HVDC control system to number of modules. The artic le suggests protection strategy during the typical power system faults of VSC-HVDC. At first, the author introduces the fundamental of VSC-HVDC. Then, it divide level of the control system, which use dual-loop control mode and vector control mode, in order to stand active power control process and reactive power control process alone. The artic le points the function of every module and the relationship between modules, convenient for controller design in a variety of applications. Under the guidance of dividing control modules, the author built simulation models used for two AC systems connection and provide power to load systems based on PSCAD/EMTDC. During the process, the author has done the reverse power flow test and load fluctuation test.The author has built passive inverter based on digital signal processor(DSP). The experimental device is used to achieve AC and DC voltage conversion function. Then, it's used for provide electrical energy to load system. The author has done the task inc luding selecting equipment and programming.
