ABSTRACTCrawler cranes are commonly used in large-scale engineering projects,which are paid attention to their safety and reliability. Once failure occurs at work, it will seriously affect people's lives and property safety, endangering national public safety. Crawler crane boom construction as one of the main bearing member, the reliability plays an important role in the safety and reliability of whole machine, reliability analysis of the boom can effectively reduce accidents and improve productivity. To study reliability method of the boom structure has important practical significance and economic significance.Due to the structural characteristics of crawler cranes and working environment, it is difficult to obtain a large number of sample data for its reliability analysis, limiting the application of traditional methods of reliability analysis. Based on the convex model theory, the paper propose non-probabilistic reliability analysis method for crawler crane boom. Using allowable stress method to obtained a mathematical model of the non-probabilistic reliability about the boom structure, and determining the uncertain parameters of the boom structure. Through Visual Studio development tools, using C# programming language to develop software to analyzing the engineering example of strength?stiffness ? stability about boom structure. Discussing the non-probabilistic reliability of boom structure rigidity when lifting weight are different, and the influence when correlation degrees between parameters are different.This method takes into account the range of variation of parameters,correlation or independence of parameters, without the aid of a large number of sample information, to make up for the deficiencies of the traditional reliability.The method is approximate accurate for boom construction in non-probabilistic reliability. By analyzing the engineering examples prove that the method is feasible. Combine conventional calculation methods with non-probability theory,provide a new way for the boom type of crane structure reliability analysis.
