Research On The Renovation And Expansion Design Of New Type Maternal And Child Health Care Institution Building

As the most important part of the national health, Maternal and child health is the foundation of every family, and it’s the basic elements of building a harmonious society, which related to the national development and the nation’s future. Maternal and child health-care hospital is a professional institution to provide women and children Health-care and treatment services.With the improving of the economic level in our country, the medical and health services for women and children in our country has developed rapidly in recent years, people’s medical needs also increasing at the same time. And opening "two-child" policy, which means that within a period of time in the future, there will be more demand for maternal and child health-care. On the other hand, in recent years, the government has issued policies, emphasizing the important of health-care, and proposing discipline system construction theory especially for maternal and child health institutions. In this theory the medical departments is "divided by population" instead of "by function", which means the establishment of “Centralization” of Maternity and Children health-care hospital: "Perinatal period Health Center", "Women’s Health Center" and "Children’s health Center".In this background, Maternal and child health-care hospitals are facing important development opportunities and challenges. So they have to renovate and expansion the existing buildings and equipment for continuous updating. This paper try to focus on the renovation and expansion of Maternal and child health-care hospitals. After mastering the requirements of the new type of Maternal and child health-care hospitals and the approach to renovate the medical buildings, field research had been conduct on Maternal and child health-care hospitals, in order to explore the current stuations and problems, and to seek ways to solve it.Firstly, This paper reviewed the relevant research from architecture and medicine, while summarized the development situation of maternal and child health institutions and the building requirements of the new type Maternal and child health-care hospitals, and compared particularity of the new type Maternal and child health-care hospitals with the traditional ones and the general hospitals.Secondly, conduct the field research. The research is divided into two aspects, one is for the new type Maternal and child health-care hospitals, learning lessons in the renovation and expansion experience; the other is the traditional maternal and child health research organization, analyzed present situation problems and contradictions. To solve these problems, combined with the construction of the new maternity and child care experience, summed up the renovation and expansion of Maternal and child health-care hospitals design strategies, including the following: For the maternity and child care building renovation, proposed design strategies of restructuring the space, organizing the streamline, improving the environment and service facilities, renovating the facade; for building expansion, focused on the integration of old and new space, and architectural image coordinated approach.Finally, the results of research then successfully applied to the practice project.
