Research On Protection And Reuse Of Architectural Heritages Of Consulates And Embassies In Chongqing

Chongqing has deployed the economic development rapidly as a direct-controlled municipality with the city modernization level by leaps and bounds. A large number of historical buildings have become endangered with the quick pace of urban renewal when people feel the ever-changing urban landscape. At the same time, it is more and more urgent to protect the historical buildings due to the crisis of the urban context continuation. It is very difficult to achieve the ultimate goal of protecting the historical and cultural buildings with any mode of passive protection, individual protection and static protection because of the rapid development of city. We still need to further explore the flexible and effective protection and reuse way of the architectural heritage in response to the market economic system according to the needs of the urban development in spite of the increasing protection consciousness of people at present. In addition, we need to make the protection and reuse of the architectural heritage as an important means of the sustainable development of the famous historical and cultural cities.Firstly, the paper makes a longitudinal carding on the historical evolution of embas sy in Chongqing and embassy in China of Chongqing. It summarizes the embassies and consulates ever established in Chongqing and the relevant historical events through data collection.Secondly, it makes the in-depth investigation and analysis of the existing embassies and consulates of Chongqing and analyzes the current problems to protect them on the basis of the summary of the important history, art and development value of the embassies and consulates in Chongqing.Thirdly, it proposes the heritage protection and reuse principle and practice strategy of the embassies and consulates in Chongqing specifically under the premise of listing the protection and reuse rules and regulations at home and abroad and properly using the protection experience for reference. It is to make some suggestions of methods and ideas for the design of the protection and reuse of the historical building and the characteristic development of the urban history district.Finally, it makes a summary and clears the view of author again to outlook the practice road of the protection and reuse of the historical building in future. It hopes to be able to correctly handle the relationship between protection and reuse in order tomake an overall view of the historical and cultural protection from the angle of urban design and build a diversified mechanism of protection and reuse and ultimately achieve the all-win harmony goal of heritage protection and urban development.
