With the development of computer, the technology such as computer simulation,computer graphics, virtual reality technology, geographic information system and decision support system is increasingly used in various fields of fire fighting design and simulation.For aircraft cabin in particular, on the one hand the opportunity of real fire accident is very small,so it is difficult for the firefighters to get practical training; On the other hand, it is too expensive to operate the fire fighting drills and emergency evacuation drills, with the shortcomings of poor repeatability. Then the virtual aircraft cabin fire scene can be established using the virtual reality technology, so the users can manipulate the appropriate fire-fighting equipments to do the fire fighting training.FDS developed by NIST works as a simulation platform in this paper, with the evacuation software Evac. The research is carried out about the development of aircraft cabin fire and evacuation. The main tasks that have been done are as follows:Firstly, a scientific and accurate cabin fire model is established on the FDS platform. A scientific and accurate cabin fire model is necessary for the subsequent simulation. In this paper, the Airbus A320 aircraft cabin is chosen as the simulation object to establish a full-size simulation model and set up obstacles, fire source, fire-fighting facilities in this model.Secondly, by changing the boundary conditions, the data of cabin fire model simulation calculation can be obtained. Such as the analysis of the development of fire, temperature,visibility, poison gas diffusion; and also study the conditions of flashover and the law of evacuation.Finally, using the data obtained through simulation, the function between the evacuation time and personnel density can be concluded, so that the simulation results can be applied to the actual fire-fighting and evacuation.The results of this paper have very important guiding significance and practical value to the fire prevention, fire fighting and evacuation escape of aircraft cabin.
