Flight Simulator visual system creates a real virtual scene for flight training. The fidelity of visual system directly affects the performance of Flight Simulator and training effect.Three-dimensional terrain model is an important part of the Flight Simulator visual system,which directly affect the pilot flight training immersion and reality, so the construction method of three-dimensional plays a crucial role in study on visual system.Based on instantaneity and authenticity required by Flight Simulator visual system, each process of terrain construction was studied, whereby was found the three-dimensional terrain construction method in accordance with the requirements from Flight Simulator visual system.In order to ensure the authenticity of the three-dimensional terrain, the remote sensing data and digital elevation data be used as a data source. The Kriging interpolation method based on data fusion and the global Wallis transform method based on HIS Color Space has been proposed for solving the data defect. In terrain creation process, Virtual Texture technology,Quad Tree LOD technology, Instance technology and other technology be used in terrain simplification for meet the requirement of the real-time demand. In the end, use the open source libraries OSG for terrain three-dimensional visualization, and use the frame rate in test the three-dimensional terrain whether meet the requirement of the Flight Simulator visual system.
