The energy problem is one of concerned problems in the development of our country. Building consumption plays an important role in total energy consumption, and building electrical consumption is a large part of building consumption. According to the survey, the load rate of public building transformer is generally low, which leads to building electrical consumption at a high level. That's because choice of transformer capacity is not reasonable, while this choice is based on calculated load, it's necessary to ensure the accuracy of calculated load. The algorithm of calculation software is based on demand factor method, but the choice of demand factor is always in a experiential range. Besides, the software can't meet some special needs of users, and always is lack of maintenance, which leads to errors easily. There is no need to choose simultaneous factor in new demand factor method. However, factors in different buildings are incomplete, and there is no package combining analysis with calculation because of lack of research. R software is free applied to analytical data, so correction factor is obtained through R software, then the package is obtained. This paper is about load calculation based on R software, it discusses correction factor of new demand factor method, and makes a package for this method to finish load calculation. According to this package, the paper analyzes engineering example to verify the accuracy of new demand factor method, and the results prove its feasibility.Firstly, this paper introduces the current research status of load calculation method and calculation software, expounds the current problems existing in the common calculation methods and software. Through the comparison of common methods of load calculation, the advantages of new demand factor method are stated, and the key of calculation program is clear. Meanwhile, the paper discusses reasons why calculation errors exist and how to evaluate the accuracy of calculation., then it states how to choose the distribution transformer. Besides, it talks about principle and characteristics of R software, and shows the reason choosing R software.Secondly, this paper introduces the current status of building energy efficiency, indicating the importance of green building and load calculation can have the aid of data obtained by building monitoring system. Then the correction factor of new demand factor method is obtained based on functions of R software, providing fundamental basis for load calculation.Finally, the package LOADC1.0.tar.gz is finished and applied in the load calculation of a hospital. In this example analysis, the paper introduces the basic situation of the engineering and its design principles, and the capacity of transformers is determined through the application of package. In addition, the paper compares practical load rate and evaluation index, which prove that calculation error of new demand factor method is smaller than that of demand factor method.
