With the development of computer technology and the mature of finite element theory, making use of computer to analysis bus structure is an important and indispensable process through the car design. The FEM analysis of bus include whole bus static structure finite analysis, dynamics analyzed, collision finite analysis ect, which plays an important role in improving product quality, shortening research period and reducing research expense. The paper based on one half-integral body frame structure as the research object. The bus is a company's latest product, which is still on the stage of trial production, a lot of problems arisen over the operating cycle. In this paper, structure strength about uniform, torsion, emergency braking, turning rapidly of nine typical operating conditions have been analyzed using finite element method, and thus the stress distribution, the failure mechanism have been obtained. The structure of bending and torsion stiffness have been analyzed also. In addition, the modal analysis of bus structure has been taken, and the first 20 frequency and formation view of the bus body skeleton have been obtained. The stress concentration area has been obtained based on the structure strength analysis. Then the optimization theory is used to improve the whole body structure in order to reduce the risk of structural failure. Finally, the basic performance of improved structure has been calculated and the improved structure has been compared with the original structure. The results shows that after the improvement of the total structure, the bus body structure strength was increased, and the structure performance has been greatly improved. These showed that the optimization results is ideal.
