The seismic behavior of steel beam-to-column joints plays an important role in the safety of the whole frame structure.In order to make the plastic hinge away from the joint welds,prevent brittle failure,achieve "Strong joint and weak member" concept under seismic action and make the equipment and pipeline walk through the beam conveniently,this paper makes a deep study of the seismic performance of the beam-to-column joint with beam flange openings by using ANSYS finite element software.First of all,this paper compares seismic performance of beam-to-column joint with beam flange openings and the common joint without weakening from the plastic hinge of joints,stress path,hysteretic curves,skeleton curves,energy dissipation capability and ultimate bearing capacity of joints,and so on.The results show that the beam-to-column joint with beam flange openings can make can make the plastic hinge of joint far away from the beam end weld,which can effectively protect the beam end weld,and improve the ductility and energy dissipation capacity of the joints.Secondly,this paper makes parametric analysis on the 20 different weakened parameters of beam-to-column joint with beam flange openings and studies the effects of weakening initial length Ac,the hole center distance from hole center to edge Bc,the flange opening diameter Dc,the center distance between the flange openings Lc,and the number of flange openings Nc on the seismic behavior of this kind of joint.The results show that if weakening of parameters are in a reasonable range,the seismic behavior of joints can will be improved significantly and the influence of beam flange openings on the ultimate bearing capacity of the joints will be reduced.Among them,weakening parameters Ac and Dc are the most influece on the location of plastic hinge of joints,energy dissipation capacity of joints and ultimate bearing capacity of the joints.Finally,the reasonable range of parameters is put forward,which lays a foundation for further research of beam-to-column joint with beam flange openings,and provides an important theoretical basis for the practical engineering design.
