In the development process of cities, urban land for construction is becoming less and less. High-rise buildings continuously appear, and correspondingly, the embedded depth of foundation constantly increases, and excavation depth is also constantly growing, so deep foundation pit excavation in urban area puts forward new contents and challenges for designers and constructors, for example, high and large buildings which have been built or which are being built around the foundation pit are dense or close to important municipal facilities, etc. Therefore, in order to ensure the normal construction of underground structures and the safety of surrounding environment of deep foundation pit, geological conditions, hydrologic conditions, specific engineering requirements, impact of climate change, construction sequence and management, environment around site and so on must be comprehensively considered, and the corresponding foundation pit supporting structure must be adopted. Under the condition of higher underground water level, the danger level that groundwater brings to the engineering construction of deep foundation pit is quite high. When adopting groundwater lowering and drainage scheme, land subsidence is often uneven, which will not only bring a bad effect to buildings, roads and underground pipelines around the foundation pit, but also cause a waste of water resources, so the foundation pit adopts anti-seepage curtain, which is not only a development trend of groundwater treatment of deep foundation pit, but also the needs of protecting urban ecological civilization.This papers simply analyzed the research status and future development trend of foundation pit engineering both at home and abroad, and introduced the project profile and engineering geological conditions, and summarized the basic theory and design principle of foundation pit supporting. Meanwhile, this paper also expounded the common types, characteristics and applicable scope of deep foundation pit supporting structure, listed the factors influencing deep foundation pit supporting scheme, and summarized selection methods of supporting scheme. In addition, it took engineering instances as an optimum analysis of supporting scheme, analyzed the applicability of common supporting structures to engineering instances, determined that the combination structure of pile anchor supporting and anti-seepage curtain is the optimal form of supporting structure, and finally made a optimization design for the supporting scheme of engineering instances according to the engineering's geological data and surrounding influencing factors.
