Direct fastening system include several sub-systems which can drive nail into hard base material,such as concrete,steel,brick,stone and so on directly by the energy generated by explosion of powder,gas or some other ways.Nail fastening technology is one of the most advanced fastening technology which widely used in metallurgy,construction,mining industry,car manufacture,tunnel construction etc.This technology can significantly increase working efficiency and reduce the labor intensity meanwhile.Nail setting failure rate is one of the most important assessment criteria of direct fastening system which directly influence the safety and customer acceptance.This shows it's very important to research how to reduce the setting failure rate.The aim of this study is to investigate the nail setting failure rate on concrete by substantive test and analyzed by mathematical physics statistical method due to different nail and piston structure,different heat treatment and different coating thickness.Subsequently,some improvements to be implements to reduce the nail setting failure rate on concrete.This investigation covers:(1)Influence of position structure in fastening and improvement:Comparison test of two different kinds existing piston and nail structures to find out the main influence factors of setting failure rate,based on this to come up a new piston and nail structure to improve setting failure rate and life time of piston.(2)Investigate influence of concrete to nail thru experiment:Study influence of concrete strength in nail fastening and result of setting failure rate in different face of concrete by mass tests.(3)Investigate influence of nail in fastening thru experiment:Influence of different heat treatment process and coating thickness in fastening.Subsequently,propose heat treatment process and coating thickness to reduce the failure rate during nail fastening.Investigation shown concrete strength is important for proper fastening,however piston and nail structural and heat treatment process are also crucial.
