With the rapid development of information and automation,power,communication,finance and chemical industry for reliability and stability of the power system put forward higher requirements.The health status of the valve regulated lead-acid battery,which is the final protection of the power supply,is very important for the safe and reliable operation of the power supply equipment.In order to ensure the normal power supply of the battery group,the maintenance of the storage battery has become a very important task.However,the traditional maintenance methods require staff to the scene or offline operation,not only to the system power supply caused the risk,but also to the staff to bring security risks.So,this paper is devoted to the development of a new type of battery online monitoring and activation system,to achieve the online monitoring,online activation and capacity prediction of the battery.In this paper,the working principle,electrical performance parameters,failure mechanism and the influencing factors of the capacity of the battery are analyzed.Then according to the system function,the system hardware circuit design,activation system software design,PC monitoring software design and BP neural network algorithm for the estimation of the battery residual capacity are completed.Hardware design with STM32f103ZET6 as the main controller,designed the controllable charging unit,controllable discharge unit,PWM generation unit,IGBT drive unit,data acquisition unit and human-computer interaction unit.Activation system software modular of the system,mainly including the design of system initialization module,data acquisition module,PI control module,charging and discharging control module and human-computer interaction module.PC monitoring interface uses the LabVIEW development platform to complete the on-line monitoring of the battery voltage of the whole set,single cell voltage,charge and discharge current,ambient temperature and the residual capacity of the battery.Battery capacity is affected by many factors and is difficult to measure online,this paper discusses the method based on BP neural network technology for lead-acid battery capacity prediction,and has broad application prospects.Through the comparisonand analysis on the performance of several kinds of improved BP network algorithm,select the most advantage of the LM algorithm,design a 3 layer BP network model to achieve capacity prediction.Through the MATLAB simulation to verify the performance of the network,and apply it to the activation system software.Experimental results show that the system can carry out real-time online monitoring of the battery,can control the online charging and discharging of battery to achieve online activation,and through improved BP network based on LM realized the accurate estimation of the battery capacity.
