At present,all kinds of electric equipments have placed greater demands on power quality.Reactive power as an important parameter to measure the power quality,directly affects the line loss,voltage drop and equipment capacity.As a result,the issue of reactive power compensation appears more and more important.The static var generator(SVG)can realize the dynamic reactive power compensation.Compared with the traditional reactive power compensation device,SVG has the advantages of fast response speed,low output voltage harmonic content,high compensation accuracy,continuously smooth adjustment and reliable running etc,which has become a hot research topic in the field of power electronics.After deep research,this paper has designed and produced a set of experiment platform for static reactive power generator.This paper firstly explains the harm of reactive power,summarizes the definition of reactive power and power factor,introduces several kinds of traditional reactive power compensation technology,and describes the current situation and development trend of static reactive power generator.Secondly,the structure and working principle of the SVG are introduced,including two control methods of SVG:direct current control and indirect current control.In addition,several reactive current detection methods,based on the instantaneous reactive power theory,are compared and analyzed.Firstly,a system simulation based on the MATLAB/SIMULINK is built to verify the feasibility of solution.On the basis of simulation,all circuits are designed and introduced,including:sampling circuit,main circuit,driving protection circuit.Then,control programs are written and all flow charts are provided.Finally,the system module for joint debugging,reactive power compensation experiments are carried out.
