As GDI gasoline engine which adopts the same fuel supply system as diesel engine does,can make the combustion efficiency and output power of the engine greatly improve,with lower CO2 emissions and fuel consumption,it's market share is growing continually.However,the particulate emissions of the direct injection gasoline engine increase obviously due to the inhomogeneous distribution of concentration of mixture in cylinder.With the release of the China-6 emission regulations,not only the limit of Particulate Matter was reduced to 3mg/km,the amount of Particulate Numberalso has been limited under 106?11/km.As the traditional aftertreatment system can not satisfy the requirements of the China-6 standard,the GPF is the most effective method for solving the problem of particulate emissions.In this work,based on the China-6 standard,for thegasoline engine particulate collector was studied through testing the properties of GPF back pressure on the laboratory bench.Because GPF will increase the back pressure of the exhaust system,the selection of the scheme of low back pressure particle trap is analyzed.The emission performance of GPF was tested in the vehicle emission laboratory,and the possibility of applying GPF to China-6 gasoline vehicles was analyzed.First of all,this paper introduces the China-6 emission regulations which has strict limits on the emission of PM.The advantages and disadvantages of various kinds of filter material and regeneration technology are analyzed.Cordierite is the best carrier material for particle catcher.In the regeneration mode of GPF,passive regeneration is relatively simple,but active regeneration is required in some special conditions.The way of active regeneration is to add and then cut the oil,which require a control strategy This paper introduces the layout of GPF,classified into Close-coupled and Underfloor.Secondly,in the engine bench laboratory,the particle catcher assembly is installed on the 1.5TGDI engine to measure the back pressure of the bench,and the back pressure,power and torque were measured under the external characteristic curve.With the increase of the rotating speed,the influence of GPF on the back pressure of exhaust system is more and more great.When engine runs at the 5000 rpm,the GPF's back pressure of the exhaust system is about 12 kPa higher than that out of the GPF.The experimental data of the three schemes are analyzed,and the GPF back pressure and exhaust back pressure are the lowest in C project,and the power and torque performance is better.C program exhaust system back pressure is low,which isconducive to reducing the vehicle fuel consumption,so C is the best choice.Finally,the emission performance of GPF was tested in the vehicle emission laboratory.GPF not only has a significant effect on the trapping of particulate matter,but also can catalyze the conversion of gaseous pollutants by GPF coated with precious metals.The higher the amount of precious metal coating of GPF is,the better the control effect of exhaust pollutants can be obtained,the higher the coating quantity not only increase the cost,but also increase the exhaust back pressure.In the two kinds of main arrangement of GPF,the effect of the UF on the particles is better than that of the CC,and the increase in back pressure is also small.The vehicle fuel consumption measured in the WLTC test cycle is higher that measured inthe NEDC test cycle.GPF UF arrangement has little impact on r fuel consumption,while CC is on the contrary.In conclusion,GPF can play a significant role in the China-6 postprocessing system.
