Cable dome is a kind of tensegrity structure with high efficiency,which developed in the end of the 20 th century,it is mainly composed of continuous flexible cables and discontinuous rigidity compressive bars,because of its light weight,good stability and the advantages of nice shape,cable dome become a widely popular structure with the architects,and has been successfully applied in lots of large span stadiums abroad.With the improving of people’s aesthetic pursuit and the springing up of different kinds of sports venues with original and nice shape,the structure style of large span roof becomes increasingly diversified,how to make necessary improvement of the traditional form of cable dome structure,and make it better applied in the new form of stadiums has become an issue that engineers concern.The author take the cable dome of Tianjin University of Technology Gymnasium(hereinafter referred to as the project),which is the new form of cable dome with the largest span inbroad with the designing she participated in as the engineering background.This project has some particularity of the unequal height boundry and the partly rigid roof of this project,and we lack the experience in engineering design in our country.Basing on the study of a large number of literature at home and abroad,combined with the problems in the actual design,force analysis,system optimization design and the research and analysis of static performance has been done,specific as follows:According to the special form of cable dome of this project,basing on the force density method and the overall concept of feasible prestress,the force-finding method applied to cable dome structures with unequal height boundries and oval plane is studied,and example analysis and results verification was also carried on.According to the architectural form of the roof of the project,four different kinds of form of structures,the single-layer latticed shell,double-layer latticed shell,radiant truss and the cable dome were put forward,the cable dome structure is the optimal structure after comparision.Based on this,the applicability of the structural of different forms of cable domes were also compared,a new kind of complex cable dome structure which is more suitable for the project was put forward and optimized.Based on the partly rigid roof structure of this project,the reasonable layout method of the purlin was discussed,and the effect on the static properties of the synergistic effect of partly rigid roof and the cable dome was also analyzed.According to the analysis,the increasment of rigidty by rigid purlin and stressed-skin effect is 2.73 times and 1.06 times.According to the special form of the cable dome project,which boundary is not in the same horizontal plane,the mechanical properties of different forms of ring-beam was compared,it is concluded that the concrete ring-beam is a relatively reasonable form.At the same time,the effect on the static properties of the cable dome with different constraint conditions selection was also studied,the analysis shows that the results of the three-way hinged model or spring constraint model had obvious difference with the model considering the synergistic effect of the whole structure,for the structure design of the cable dome with this kind of irregular shape,it is necessary to consider synergistic effect of the whole structure.After the structure optimation and the analysis of the static performance of this project,some degree of reference can be provided for analysis and design of similar cable dome project which have unequal height boundries and partly rigid roofs.
