Because of its excellent structural performance,Carbon Fiber Reinforced Polymer is widely used in aviation field.compared to traditional metal material,When applied to aircraft structure,the conductivity of carbon fiber reinforced resin composites is lower,and more sensitive to the thunder.Considering the physical properties of carbon fiber composites,the lightning damage degree is higher than the metal materials.Damage area and damage depth was the two important indicators to evaluate the lightning damage degree,the resistivity of Carbon fiber reinforced resin composite material is anisotropy which the resistivity of thickness direction is higher than the plane direction,lightning current difficult to infiltrate into the deep.but if the composite material damage,lightning current can be passed to the deeper part.Once the lightning through the wing tank structure of composite material,it could ignite fuel steam,which can lead to catastrophic explosion.Therefore,maximum damage depth of composites is a serious problem for the structural integrity.To meet the requirements of aircraft lightning protection design,there need to carry out the experiment to obtain the damage characteristics of carbon fiber composite materials.In this paper,through the combination simulation of lightning current component A,B,C*,and using two types of protection(Flame spraying aluminum and copper mesh),to Analysis of the lightning damage characteristic of the different protection modes.and then,carrying out the experiments to structural component,and the damage data is obtained by NDT testing.To establish damage depth model,the lightning electric arc heating and resistance heating composite is defined as the main way of external energy input,matrix composite materials evaporation is defined as the main mode of energy absorption of composites.Combined with the composite material damage data,using genetic algorithm to optimize the damage prediction model parameters.And then analyses the lightning environment parameter of carbon fiber composite material properties,and draw the corresponding damage characteristic curve.Finally,through the finite element simulation software ANSYS,in view of the carbon fiber composite material structure of lightning strike damage process,established a laminated plate test piece of electro-thermal coupling finite element model,to study the carbon fiber composite material temperature field distribution of the lightning.
