Water-soluble packaging film is a new type of green packaging materials,in Europe and the United States and other countries have been widely attention,not only safe and convenient,but also solve the packaging waste disposal.At present,the water-soluble film mainly in polyvinyl alcohol,polyethylene oxide and other petroleum-based materials as raw materials,oil is non-renewable resources,large-scale use will result in resource shortages.There is also a natural substance such as starch and protein as raw materials of water-soluble film,however,the mechanical properties of these water-soluble films are poor.Hydroxypropyl methyl cellulose is a natural polymer materials,resources are abundant,renewable,and has a good water solubility and film-forming,is an ideal raw material to the preparation of water soluble packaging film.This paper mainly introduced a novel water-soluble packaging film,which took hydroxypropyl methyl cellulose as raw material and prepared by the solution casting method.The effects of HPMC film forming concentration and film forming temperature on the tensile strength,breaking elongation,transmittance and water solubility of HPMC water-soluble packaging films were discussed,and the properties of HPMC water-soluble packaging films were further improved by glycerol,sorbitol and glutaraldehyde.Finally,in order to enlarge the application of HPMC water-soluble packaging film in food packaging,bamboo leaf antioxidant was used to improve the anti-oxidation property of HPMC water-soluble packaging film.The main research results are as follows:(1)With the increase of the HPMC concentration,the tensile strength,breaking elongation and transmittance decreased.When the concentration of HPMC is 5 % and the film forming temperature is 50 °C,the tensile strength of HPMC film is about 116 MPa,the breaking elongation is about 31 %,the transmittance is 90 %,and the water-soluble time is 55 min.(2)Plasticizer glycerol and sorbitol improved the mechanical properties of HPMC film,so that significantly increased the breaking elongation.While the addition of glycerol was between0.05 % and 0.25 %,the breaking elongation of HPMC water-soluble packaging film was about50 %,and when the amount of sorbitol was 0.15 %,the breaking elongation increased to 45 % or so.HPMC water-soluble packaging film modified by glycerol and sorbitol,the tensile strength decreased,optical performance decreased,but the decline is not significant.(3)Fourier transform infrared(FTIR)of HPMC water-soluble packaging film with glutaraldehyde as crosslinking agent indicates that there is crosslinking reaction betweenglutaraldehyde and HPMC film,reducing the water-soluble of it.While glutaraldehyde0.25 %,the mechanical and optical properties of the films were optimized.While the amount of glutaraldehyde was 0.44 %,the time of water solubility was 135 min.(4)The addition of an appropriate amount of AOB in the film-forming solution of water-soluble packaging film of HPMC can improve the antioxidant of the film.The removal rate of DPPH radical was about 89 % and the removal efficiency of AOB / HPMC film was 61 %,and the water solubility of AOB / HPMC film was also improved significantly when 0.03 %AOB was added.
